The rainbow blockchain: 5 emerging LGBTQ+ NFT artists to watch!
The NFT and Crypto art world is a rapidly expanding and competitive space. In the last 3 months alone, the space has seen remarkable growth and millions of dollars in crypto exchanged for digital art and media. NFTs offer artists, musicians, creators and more the chance to connect with their collectors on a personal level and remove the use of corporations that take exorbitant cuts of the artists earnings. The LGBT community has been somewhat late to the NFT buzz, and although many artists exist in the space, their success is somewhat overshadowed by avatar projects like Bored Ape Yacht Club and Lucky Maneki. It's easy to feel like an outsider in the crypto community when there are so many insiders that are straight males. We wanted to take this opportunity to introduce you to some of the emerging LGBTQ+ artists in the space and give them so much deserved exposure.
1) Sam J Studios
Netherlands based artist, Sam J Studios is a non-binary 3D artist. Their work is usually interactive and augmented reality based meaning that their pieces are multifaceted and dynamic.
Sam J Studios is available on Superrare and you can view more of their current pieces, and things they’re working on, over on their instagram.
2) Pol Kurucz
Parisian born photographer Pol Kurucz is a big name in the trans and drag community, having snapped some stars of RuPauls Drag Race, including; GiGi Goode, Pearl and the most recent winner of Season 13, Symone (pictured above) Recognising the gap in the market for LGBT content in the NFT industry, Pol Kurucz is enhancing select pieces for the crypto market. He will be listed on KnownOrigin in mid July.
3) Kate Cursed
Analog artist, Kate Cursed, produces trippy 90s style analog sketches. They can feature anything from jungle patterns, to patterns resembling the carpet in a 90s bowling alley. Some of her work is animated too!
She’s currently listed on Opensea and I highly recommend you check her work out. This kind of work would make for an amazing 1/1 phone background!
4) Klara Vollstaedt
Canadian artist and crypto enthusiast, Klara Vollstaedt works with 3D renders and makes all of her art from scratch. The cute characters are presented as animations, this piece is entitled “Peck”

5) Gwyn Williams
This might be the closest any of us will get to travelling for a while! Gwyn Williams is an English born artist currently living in Canada. They are pushing for LGBT representation in the NFT space so it’s only natural to include them in this list. Their artwork follows a pixelated style and is a mixture of static and animated pieces.
Gwyns artwork is available on multiple platforms, you can see the full list here.
There are many other LGBTQ+ artists in the space that we could do one of these that counted over 100, bur we wanted to put the spotlight on some we've seen making splashes in the community and changing the face of NFT! We highly recommend you follow them, buy and share their art, and show your appreciation for the community.
